Our family histories center on Maryland, Virginia, North
Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. Most of our ancestors moved
from North Carolina or Virginia to Kentucky or Tennessee between
1800 and 1830. In Tennessee our research centers on Dickson, Williamson,
Rutherford, Smith, Weakley, and Obion Counties. Jim's paternal
grandparents grew up in Dickson Co, and his maternal grandmother RANKIN
grew up in Weakley/Obion Co's. Both his JAMES and HUDSON ggf's
served in the Civil War in the Tennessee infantry. In Kentucky our research centers on Marshall, Calloway,
Graves, Hickman, Fulton, and Henry Counties. Lou's paternal
grandparents, CHAMBERS and HARRIS, and her maternal grandmother FURCHES grew up in Calloway Co.
Her gggf SWANN served in the Civil War in the Kentucky cavalry. We both have German heritage. Lou's ancestors include CLAPP
(KLAP), STIESS, LOY, and FAUST. Jim's include CASTLEMAN (CASSELMAN), SCHAFER, LOWRANCE (LORENTZ) and HEILIGER. Lou has French (BREVARD and JETTON) and Swedish
