Lou grew up in Benton, KY, and Jim in Fulton, KY. We graduated from Murray State University, Murray, KY.
Lou is a librarian. She has worked as a school librarian and as an Air Force base librarian.
Jim served as an Air Force pilot. After retiring from the Air Force, he was in banking for several years and now is a CPA. He has been using desktop computers for over 17 years and likes to talk about computer hardware, operating systems, and software. He has created a page on the Korean War.
Lou is especially interested in the three families that traveled together through several moves: the ALEXANDERS, MCKNIGHTS, and WALLACES. Jim is interested in the migration of families to North Carolina before the Revolutionary War.
Lou has both German Palatine (CLAPP [KLAP], LOY, STIESS, and FAUST) and French Huguenot (BREVARD and JETTON) ancestry. Jim's LOWRANCE [LORENTZ] ancestors were either Palatine or Huguenot; the question is discussed on the LOWRANCE page. His HEILIGER, CASTLEMAN [CASSELMAN], SCHAFER, and SAUERESSIG ancestors were German, and his RINDER ancestors were Swiss.
We are humbled by the knowledge that many of our ancestors migrated to unknown places, facing many hardships, to serve our Lord in faith according to the dictates of their conscience. You can find more information about the Palatines and the Huguenots at the Olive Tree Genealogy page.
