The War of 1812

Roy Stringfellow gave us documents that confirm that Nelson Walker served in the Virginia Militia in the War of 1812. They concerned the application of Nona Clement Parker of Austin, TX, a descendant of Nelson Walker's daughter Sarah, to become a member of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812. Her application was approved 22 Feb 1932.

WALKER, Nelson: While a resident of Campbell Co, VA, he enlisted 30 Aug 1814, and served as a private in Captain Samuel Johnson's Company of Infantry, Lt. Colonel Alexander Austin's Third Regiment, Second Brigade, Virginia Militia. He was discharged 1 Dec 1814.
